Hypnotherapy
Out of all the resources we've used, Hypnotherapy has been the best for healing and moving forward. It's helped us connect to strengthen our spiritual connection, recognize what's keeping us from progression, and teaching us how to move forward into mental self-control; which means becoming in control of our emotions and behaviors. So freeing!!!!

Hypnotherapy
What is Hypnosis?
IT IS NOT MIND CONTROL!!! Just to clarify here. Even in stage shows, the person hypnotized has a choice to accept or reject the suggestions given by the Hypnotherapist. Every person is in the hypnotic states throughout the day (there are 7). When someone wakes up (they're coming up out of the deeper hypnotic states). When someone goes to sleep (they're going down into deeper hypnotic states). When someone day dreams they are in a light hypnotic state. These states are experienced by people every day. Hypnotherapy is effective because in a particular hypnotic state we can access AND OVERCOME deep hurts and sub-conscious beliefs that hold us back.

When we want to do something (conscious goal), but can't seem to accomplish it (sub-conscious resistance) this can be frustrating. Over the years we build our sub-conscious beliefs based on experiences. Our beliefs are deeply rooted in our perceptions of the world through our perspective growing up. Through Hypnotherapy we can revisit those experiences, which are stored in our sub-conscious memory, to fix inaccurate beliefs.
For Example: Swimming
I had goals that I just couldn't seem to follow through with. I would start strong, but then wouldn't continue. I would drop it and move onto something else. This was frustrating since I wasn't accomplishing what I wanted. Why do I do that??!! My husband did a session on me and a memory came forward that I thought was random. In high school I decided to join the swim team, having no previous experience with competitive swimming. I learned a lot but it was tough! I hated this memory since I was so disappointed in myself for never winning a race. I was embarrassed by who I was back then. As we walked through the facts of my high school swim experience my perception started to change.
Here were some of the facts:
FACT #1) Most of the others on the team had been swimming competitively for years, OR had been involved in other highly physical sports. I hadn't! Yet, I was expecting myself to beat them.
FACT #2) I was so determined to win that I would go to practice and then would frequently run on the track to build leg muscles. I also wore leg weights to school frequently (which couldn't have been attractive).
FACT #3) I only swam for 2 years, and then we moved. This stopped my ability to continue swimming competitively. Over the past 2 years I had seen progress with my times and strength.

Since I never won during those 2 years, I had formed the belief that I just can't accomplish my goals no matter how hard I work. I did everything I could and I couldn't accomplish my goal to win. That was accepted as true to me at that time since I had proof. Through this session, my perception of that memory was altered as I realized the ridiculous expectation I had put on myself. I finally could see that if I had continued with competitive swimming, I would have improved more, whether I won or not. I suddenly saw this high schooler in a different light. Instead of a loser who, no matter how hard she worked, would never accomplish her goal; I saw her for the determined, hard working, person she was. I was amazed with her strength to continue to get back up and keep working at something she wanted. I could finally see the truth about myself.
Truth: IF I worked at something for the APPROPRIATE AMOUNT OF TIME, I WILL ACCOMPLISH WHATEVER GOAL I SET! That belief I had built that "I will never accomplish my goals" was changed to "I accomplish whatever goals I set". Since we need evidence to back up our beliefs; I had that altered perception of the memory with facts to back up my new belief.
After a session, I believe affirmations are so powerful. We want to be so comfortable with that new truth we realize in the session, so we remind ourselves daily through affirmations. Then WHEN the negative or destructive thoughts enter that are opposite to that, we can solidly bounce it out and not let that belief into our subconscious.
What we need is not more discipline, but to get our sub-conscious beliefs in alignment with our conscious goals. Then discipline can propel our progression to accomplish things better. The sub-conscious is powerful!!!
Can it help me?

Our life is up to us to create. We are not victims to circumstance. Sometimes things happen where we were a victim and we were powerless for a time, BUT we do not need to stay in that situation or victim mindset once we're out of that situation. Sometimes it feels we don’t have the ability to choose, but I promise you we do! I want you to do an exercise to show this.

Record the following script on your phone or have someone read this to you while you close your eyes. Make sure you pause 5 seconds after each question. While you’re reading these questions you’re going to shake your head back and forth to answer “yes” and nod your head up and down to answer “no”. This is the opposite of what we’re used to doing. Pay attention to the effort it takes to do this. You can even do this a couple times to see if it gets easier. Here’s the script:

-
“Is the grass green in the winter?”
-
“Does the sun shine at noon day?”
-
“Does it snow in the summer?”
-
“Do you like to learn new things?”
-
“Do you love to feel special?”
-
“Does the moon come out during the day?”
-
“Is it hot outside?”
-
“Is it cold outside?”
-
“Do the stars come out at night?”
-
“Do cats chase dogs?”
-
“Have you memorized your phone number?”
-
“Is this exercise easy?”
-
“Is it becoming easier to change a learned response as you continue to practice this?”
-
“Do you realize you can change any learned response through practice just like you’re doing now?”
-
“Do you believe you can change any unwanted or unhealthy thoughts through practice?”
-
“Is this becoming easier as you practice?"
How was that? Takes focus at first doesn’t it? We have all learned how to do life, based on our experiences from our past. We are acting out what we’ve been taught. We can unlearn anything we’ve been taught. We can choose to think differently. Deep habits where we subconsciously react, can be unlearned. New healthy behaviors can be learned and deeply engrained into the subconscious. That becomes our new way of acting.
(I learned this from W. Dennis Parker who wrote Emotional Skills and Tools of Positive Mind Management)
Physical Illness/Pain Management
Before starting Hypnotherapy, a good question to ponder is:
"Am I ready to change [whatever problem or burden I'm carrying]?"
It doesn't matter if you've tried everything and don't know how. That's where Hypnotherapy is effective. Hypnotherapy is not a magical fix. Change takes effort. This is done by the person desiring change. This is a skill taught that people practice. This equips people to overcome current and future problems. It's learning to recognize and decide which thoughts are accepted and rejected.
It's important to learn there are thoughts that harm us and thoughts that help us. Each thought has an energetic frequency which when accepted, becomes an emotion which then dumps into the body. You can recognize this as someone who is in love (a helpful energetic frequency) just feels better and their body functions better. This is how the body is designed to function. As someone feels anger (a maladaptive energetic frequency) they usually don't make the best choices and can do some stupid things. Over time this maladaptive frequency really messes up the body. This can look like problems within the body which results in pain or sometimes parts of the body shutting down. The body is not designed to handle these maladaptive frequencies getting dumped into the body over time.

I'm not saying that every physical problem can be fixed through Hypnotherapy. However, the portion of the physical problem connected with an emotion can be improved through this work.
For Example: Knee Pain
I enjoy running. A couple years ago I started to have a knee pain during and after my run. I stopped running for awhile which made it go away. However, as soon as I started running again, the pain returned. I went to the chiropractor which helped, but didn't solve it. I finally did a session on myself to address this knee pain. It's called "parts therapy". You can take any problem area in your body and check if there's an emotional connection to the pain.

I addressed the knee pain and became aware of some negative thoughts that I had accepted which was dumping this maladaptive energy into the knee. The thought was about my inability to move forward with goals and such. I addressed this negative thought by readdressing the time it entered into my mind and I accepted it. Once that was cleared I knew the positive or truthful thoughts I needed to start accepting, which I did. The pain left and then months later the pain started to reappear as I was running. I went through the truths again and the pain subsided. I was amazed it worked! I've been running just fine since.

Another Example: Allergies
I started having allergies a few years back. I did a session on myself with "parts therapy" and addressed the allergy. The connected memory was when I was pregnant with our fourth. My husband's problem with pornography had started up again and we were living in an unfinished house. Overall, the pregnancy was hard. I was able to sort through some beliefs I accepted back then and my allergies subsided. I was allergy-free for a couple years. It's interesting that the allergies flared up again a couple years later. I did many sessions which helped the allergies improve, but they didn't completely go away. I was frustrated with this, but then a couple people who were really suffering from allergies reminded me I didn't have the allergies as before. They have improved drastically!!! I'll continue to address this one until it's completely gone like before.

Unwanted Emotions, Behaviors, Change a Habit
I wanted to get mad at my kiddos less, but would be so easily frustrated! I did a session and realized I had accepted the belief that life is hard and I need to feel depressed. This was how I was taught to do life. It wasn't very effective. This belief was challenged through my session and I had a choice to make. Would I continue with this type of life, or change my thoughts? I chose to change my thoughts and then worked to continually change my thoughts after this.
Trauma
As we grow up and things happen that is beyond our control, we can easily become victims and might feel we have no choice. This is not true.
Through Hypnotherapy we can revisit those experiences, which are stored in our sub-conscious memory, to identify then fix inaccurate beliefs.
Practice
Unmet Goals
When we want to do something (conscious goal), but can't seem to accomplish it (sub-conscious resistance) this can be frustrating. Over the years we build our sub-conscious beliefs based on experiences. Our beliefs are deeply rooted in our perceptions of the world through our experiences growing up.
